Tim Donnelly is responsible for this hawt mess.
Who?
Tim is a freelance writer living in Brooklyn whose completely incongruous work portfolio has appeared in Inc., Billboard, Power and Motoryacht Magazine and a handful of publications covering alligators and local theater shows in South Carolina. He’s also a contributing editor to Brokelyn, a web mag about living big on small change in the county of Kings. Tim would like you to know that without Brokelyn he would not have had an interview with Martha Stewart to post on this blog.
He has another web site here and, on average, does not write in the third person all that often.
Fine, but what is Inverted Soapbox?
Tim writes here (right here, in the web space you are reading with your face) about wandering across the desert of the post-newspapers world with a degree in print journalism, and making a go of it as a freelancer in New York . Inverted Soapbox is about exploring Brooklyn, adventures in subletting, observations on the city from a journalist’s eye, and, most of all, finding out how to make it as a writer in the digital age. If you are searching for a more specific theme than that, you will be disappointed.
Tim still thinks words are important, and thinks you should to.If you read this far, you’re probably on his side already, so show it to a friend whynot.
Well, does anyone else know about it?
My mom thinks it’s cool. Plus, these folk have linked here:
- FreeWilliamsburg
- Gothamist
- Ditmas Park Blog
- RackedNY
- Savory Bites
- Cobble Hill Blog
- Pancakes and Happiness
- Lost Magazine Blog
- 92Yblog
- The Dead Homer Society
I know everyone’s attention span is precious in a time when you can read through 1,000 blogs on any topic in any given day, so if you’ve spent time reading through here, I offer you this humble note of sincere thanks. Even if this all is just screaming into the void, it’s nice to have a small audience to watch you do it. – Tim

Ha ha, very clever. I looked at the Journalism program there. Yup, I am choosing to ignore the “decaying carcasses” and am preparing to earn a Masters in Journalism.
My theory is that the media world will always require writers and editors… in some shape or form. **crosses fingers**
